About Me
I love words, but I also hate them. They have so much power—actually, we GIVE them so much power. My parents' words still echo in my ears decades later. Some of those words still make me smile, while others can still bring me to tears.
The power of words spoken, written, and messages conveyed through our body language has always fascinated me. We’re constantly giving those around us clues as to what's going on inside us. These signals help them decide whether to approach you or wait for a ‘better time’.
As much as I love words I spent most of my life struggling to communicate in relationships. My insecurity, fear of vulnerability, people-pleasing, and other common issues kept me from building real connections. This spurned a relationship cycle that would last for more than 20 years.
Then I began to study communication, and not only did I become more aware of my own behaviors and patterns, but I also began learning how to change them. That journey has been one of the most fulfilling things I’ve ever done.
When the love of my life and I began dating, we consciously created a road map for communication in our relationship. The connection and safety that we have not only made me the happiest I've ever been, but it also allowed me to expand my desire to study communication in relationships in general, so I have. I am a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, one of the pioneering institutions in the field of health and wellness coaching. Among the approximately 128,000 practicing coaches, only a select percentage have completed a program accredited by the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching.
My mission is to serve those like me. Those who struggle with hard conversations. The ones who put up walls to protect themselves. The ones who avoid confrontation, and the ones who give in just to protect (what they believe to be) peace.
I’m here for YOU, and I’d be honored to cheer you on in your journey toward healthy communication in your relationship.
Stacey
